Hello fellow forest dwellers, The Olympics never fail to surprise. On the dissapointment side of surprise, there's Janet Evans, the women's gymnastics individual all-arounds, a softball loss to Australia, the whole cycling venue with one exception in the sprints, and even a bomb. On the positive side of surprise is both Gail and Gwen medaling in the women's 100 Meter, the women's basketball victory over Australia, (well, OK, so neither or those two were really surprises), both men's beach vollyball teams adavancing to tomorrow's final, and Becky Rheul's 4th place finish on the platform (which for someone who wasn't even expected to be a contender is great), and even a kayaking win! What with all the great sports in the Olympics, it seems that there are more and more "not-so-athletic" events getting in there. It seems like people are inventing new and silly ways to get into the Olympics because they aren't good enough to get there the conventional way. So here's my thought for an additional sport for the 2000 summer games: "Well," said Christopher Robin, not quite sure what it was all about, "I think---" "Yes?" said everybody. "I think we ought to play Poohsticks." So they did. And Eeyore, who had never played it before, won more gold medals than anybody else... Hey- it could happen! (sorry Shanna) :-) Now that's a sport I could enjoy 'training' for! ______ ______ _________________________________________________ / ____ \| __ \ | | \_| |__| | "It's Christopher Robin," he said. | | _| ___ / "Ah, then you'll be all right," said Piglet. | |___/ | | \ \ "You'll be quite safe with him..." \______/|_| \_\_________________________________________________
